Delivery is a communication problem in a technical costume

Six years, five roles, one consistent finding: the thing blocking the roadmap is almost never the code.

How I got here

I started out publishing and building web pages for Samsung Electronics across more than 50 markets in Adobe Experience Manager. Hands on the components, tickets in Jira, a global brand standard to hold. That job taught me something I still work from: most things that go wrong in delivery aren't hard engineering problems - they're unclear requirements, unowned decisions and risks nobody said out loud.

From there I moved into team leadership, coordinating publishing teams across North and Latin America, then into project management at SiGMA World, running web delivery for six global event brands at once. Then Condor Gaming, where I learned what it means to ship in a licensed market and how much of a release is compliance work wearing a delivery hat.

Today I'm a Product Owner at ClickOut Media, holding the backlog for affiliate products and working across SEO, development and QA to prioritise what actually moves OKRs. Each step took me closer to the decision about what gets built and why - which is the decision that determines whether the rest of it was worth doing.

The technical background hasn't gone away, and I use it daily. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress, AEM and manual QA mean I can hold a technical conversation without a translator, and write acceptance criteria engineers don't have to rewrite. I'm equally comfortable in a licensing conversation with compliance and a funnel conversation with performance marketing - and being able to sit in both rooms is most of the job.

  • Clear beats clever

Epics, user stories and acceptance criteria written so nobody has to guess what "done" means.

  • Risks surface early

Blockers, dependencies and compliance issues raised while there's still time to act on them.

  • Decisions carry data

KPIs, analytics and A/B tests instead of the loudest opinion in the room.

  • Momentum is a habit

Refinement, planning and retros run properly - so the team improves without being asked to.

WorkflowTools, and the job each one does

How the work gets done

AI is part of my delivery workflow, not a side experiment. Every tool below has one defined job, and I've built my own prompts and skills around the ones I lean on hardest. What it buys me is time: the gap between having a view and being able to show someone that view collapses from days to hours.

AI in the loop

  • ChatGPTTicket shaping

Custom skills I've built turn a rough requirement into a properly formed ticket - context, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and the questions somebody should have asked. The team gets tickets that are ready to estimate instead of ready to argue about.

  • Claude & Claude CodePrototypes

Working prototypes of pages, flows and small apps, built in hours rather than sprints. A clickable version settles in one meeting what a document would have kept open for two weeks, and it shows engineering what is actually being asked for.

  • n8nAutomations

The repetitive glue between tools - status syncing, recurring reports, alerts, handoffs between systems that were never meant to talk. Anything I've done the same way three times gets automated and stops eating the sprint.

  • GeminiVisual assets

Image generation for concepts, mockups and placeholder assets, so a prototype or a spec can be looked at rather than imagined. Faster than briefing design for something that only needs to exist until the real decision is made.

None of it makes the call. AI shortens the distance between a decision and something people can react to - the trade-offs, the priorities and the accountability stay exactly where they were.

Working with design

  • FigmaDesign review & handoff

Where I review what the UI/UX team has produced: checking flows against the requirement, finding the states nobody drew - empty, error, loading, too-long-name - and turning the result into acceptance criteria engineering can build from. Comments go where the designers already are, so review doesn't become a separate thread.
